Minister for the Digital Economy Cina Lawson and Robert Dussey, Minister of Foreign Affairs, took part in the Africa-Europe Forum on Digital Cooperation, held in Vienna on 17 and 18 December 2018, under the theme: “Driving cooperation in the digital era”.
This high-level summit was organized at the initiative of Rwandan President Paul Kagame, also current President of the African Union, and Sebastian Kurz, Federal Chancellor of Austria, whose country holds the presidency of the Council of the EU.
The objective of this forum was to offer European and African political actors, global companies and start-ups a space for reflection on the measures needed to ensure prosperity and competitiveness, jointly, on both continents.
The discussions focused on digitization, digitization and innovation as vectors of development. “This is not only a political partnership, but also economic cooperation. Policy can set framework conditions, economic cooperation can launch sustainable development in the areas of innovation and digitization, “said Sebastian Kurz at the opening of the forum.
