to 30 heads of state and government could take part in the summit of Lomé and more than a dozen presidents have already confirmed their presence on October 15, said Thursday Robert Dussey.
The Foreign Minister also announced the arrival of 3,000 delegates, as many as the number of police and gendarmes deployed to ensure the safety of the event.
Mr. Dussey returned on the draft charter on maritime safety which will be discussed and possibly adopted.
‘It is our pride to bring this project. Togo has made sure that the Lomé charter is adopted. All internal validation procedures at the African Union have been respected ‘, he said.
During the summit, themed events will be organized. 80 international experts will participate in round tables devoted to the fight against piracy and illegal fishing and the promotion of the blue economy.
The last international summit hosted by Togo goes back 16 years.
The country has put the package to make this meeting a diplomatic success.
