The government will mobilize Togolese from abroad to encourage their support for the socio-economic development of the country. It is in this sense that an economic forum of Togolese from outside is planned to be held during the month of November. A communication was made on the subject Wednesday at the Council of Ministers.
The communication in question was presented by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Togolese Abroad who reported to the Council of Ministers of the organization in November 2019 a forum economic Togolese from the outside.
The Togolese government is in a logic of strengthening the political, economic and administrative governance for the development of the country. To achieve this, he intends to work for the participation of all, including Togolese abroad.
In detail, it is stated that the forum will take place over two days. According to the authorities, it will provide an appropriate framework for the Government and the diaspora members of projects, to explore the financing capacity of Togolese from abroad and to mobilize them for the implementation of development projects.
The initiative of this forum is taken while Togo has just launched its National Development Plan (PND) which covers the period 2018-2022. The plan targets a structural transformation of the economy for strong, resilient, inclusive, job-creating growth. The authorities expect a 65% contribution from the private sector. The Togolese diaspora could be a key asset to this financing.
